Intro to Furniture Painting

Have you been wanting to make over your own furniture? Or have you painted before and want to learn the pro secrets to a lasting and beautiful paint job? Learn the fundamentals of painting furniture, from start to finish in this instructional class led by pro painter and owner of The Rusty Gate, Susie Myres . We will cover all the steps with a combination of demonstration and hands-on practice with sample boards. With the information and techniques you will learn in this class, you will be ready to finally tackle that piece of furniture with confidence! You CAN do it! I will walk you through the entire process and we will have a BLAST doing it. The class consists of lecture, demonstration and each student will be using sample boards to try different paints 2 1/2 hr class $69 to learn everything you need to know to paint with confidence!

This class will cover the following topics:

* Choosing the right furniture piece to paint

* The basic tools and supplies you will need

* Brushes 101 - does the paintbrush really matter?

* Paint types - what are the different paint types and pros/cons for each

* Proper preparation techniques - getting the furniture ready to paint

* Painting fundamentals

* Hardware 101 - the icing on the cake

* Finishing touches - sealing options for lasting durability

What can I bring into the class?

You may bring your favorite beverage and snacks. We will be serving light appetizers and refreshments

Do I need to bring any tools or supplies?

All tools and supplies for this class will be provided for the students

Should I wear special clothing for painting?

That's up to you. Full bib aprons will be provided, however there WILL be creativity and PAINT is involved.

Can I cancel? What's the refund policy?

We get it, life happens and you may need to reschedule. We will be fully preparing for all students so there are no refunds, but if you need to cancel, your registration can be applied toward any other class.
